Burner Tips in a Power Plant are the most wear prone equipment due to high velocity coal movement at the discharge points at high temperature. This problem though pronounces with the hardfaced surface of steel plates which develop rough surface which increases eddy current to the coal laden stream, thus degrading the velocity of flow. These developed eddy current increases wear as the stream is not moving in laminar flow. As a resultant due to wear out of baffle plates in the tip the mannerly distribution of the coal is reduced and the coal starts passing in lumps resulting in improper burning and thus reducing. |

X’tralife Burner Tip, engineered solution introduced by us, has resolved the above wear problem emphatically. X’tralife Burner Tip is wear-lined with a smooth surface and is enclosed in a special Steel body due to its special construction it prevents both warpage at an elevated temperature and also has an high erosion resistance. The special wear-lining retains its room temperature hardness of 62-65 RC upto more than 1000 0C. The product is therefore the best of its type for such arduous condition of heavy erosion at elevated temperature. X’tralife Tip usage in a Power Plant would ensure proper distribution of coal for optimum firing through out the working of the unit before shut down. Furthermore, it has already being in service at different Power Stations with life improvement of more than 3 times compared to conventionally used hardfaced SS310 Tips or Ceramic Tips. |
